Bird Allergy – Signs, Prevention and Treatment

My cousin used to work with birds on a farm and over time developed bird allergy; although mainly pet allergy manifests itself in cases and situations with dogs and cats, this condition is common for people who work on bird farms or at the zoos where they keep birds as well. Bird allergy is the reaction of your body’s resistance system to so-called feather dust – stuff that flies around birds to put it simple.
When you are allergic to birds, feather dust turns into an allergen which is strongly undesirable to keep close to your body for it causes damage to your general health. With regard to this damage brought on by bird allergy and its symptoms, it’s important to note that when my cousin suffered from it, he didn’t pay close attention to them thinking that they are some minor health shakes connected with weather or just extra stress at work.
Signs of bird allergy are either mild or more severe. The former are sneezing, sleep disorders, sore throat, running nose, itchy and watery eyes with dark areas around them. With regard to more adverse signs of bird allergy, they are materialized in many dangerous conditions which can even sometimes prompt lethal outcomes – in extreme cases that is. When a person is continuously exposed to these allergens he/she may develop constant cough, breathing difficulties, loss of weight which is not peculiar or explainable etc.
With regard to the issue of treatment, don’t start treating anything before your doc confirms that you actually suffer from bird allergy. There are cases when allergy disappears without any attempts to cure it; in the majority of cases the best remedy is to keep yourself away from birds you are allergic to.

Allergic to Pets? Read On!

Do you think that you are allergic to cats? If your suspicions and desire to get the best remedy are strong here, I’m sure you’ll be very interested in reading my tips on the subject, find them below!
Before doing anything about your pet allergy – before working on its treatment you should make sure if you actually suffer from pet allergy or not. In order to do it you should go to a doctor and answer all his/her questions. Are you feeling much better (not suffering from adverse symptoms) when your pet is at bay? It’s vitally important to make sure here because this certainty will point out at your most rational further actions.
Of course, the bestest way to fight your pet allergy is avoid getting too close to pets – remove a pet from your home or remove yourself from your pet – depends on your priorities and choices. If you just cannot lose your pet and already treat it as a beloved member of your family, prevent it to hang out at least in the room where you spend most of your time i.e. bedroom. Make sure that your apartment is always clean – just to avoid too much pets’ stuff (hair etc.) floating in the air and resting pseudo-peacefully on the surfaces of your furniture. Mind that there are special vacuum cleaners for pet-owners, consider using them as well.
In case the pet you are most allergic to resides in the flat/house of your best friend, reconsider frequent visits to your friend’s home. Go out together instead – do shopping, play football, tennis, anything that will keep you away from the pet and i.e. prevent your allergy symptoms. Don’t hesitate to talk to your pet-owning friends for them to be aware of your allergy symptoms. As a result they will be ready to accept you in their home with a pet in another room.
Remember that all these easy tips to avoid your pet allergy are useful when combined with useful doctor’s advice and possibly even medications from a medical specialist.

Your Pet and Allergies

Your pet is the member of your family just like your little sis or bro. And of course it hurts you to watch your puppy or kitten suffer from certain diseases, unpleasant conditions or discomforts.
That’s why as a (potential) pet owner you must know that animals suffer from allergies just like us humans. Your pet may suffer from both seasonal and stable allergies which imply the following allergens: plants, trees, flowers; food, insects, dust – anything your pet may come across with either outside or within the boundaries of your dwelling.
What is peculiar, your pet may have several types of allergies simultaneously. Although there is no stable cure for allergies, you should still consider immunotherapy for it will help you tame the little member’s of your family allergies.
Typically diagnosing your pet’s allergies imply a proper examination by a vet, that prompts paying special attention to a pet’s skin problems. Be prepared to tell your vet what you feed your pet with, if this condition is permanent or temporary (seasonal), or if it is especially adverse outside or inside your dwelling.
In order to track down the symptoms and signs which may indicate that your pet suffers from allergies, you must be very attentive to its behavior. Most common signs are biting, scratching, rubbing, feet chewing. For instance, if your dog suffers from allergy, you will observe it scratching its belly, rubbing its face and (or) chewing on its paws till they are inflamed. As a rule, these signs lead to hair loss or infections which manifest themselves in hair loss, skin and ear diseases.
Remember that we are immensely responsible for our pets, and do your best to take a good care of their health.
